Art Block

Recently I’ve been plagued by an art block amongst a number of issues. So I decided to roll up my sleeves and do some more digital painting and try to perfect more techniques and styles. What better way to do that then to randomly start painting portrait busts of your friends.

*DISCLAIMER* However painting can take along time and depending how difficult a subject is even longer then normal so these are all in some form of WIP (Work In Progress).

When you’re ill you’ve got to dig deep

So in the last week I’ve been in and out the doctors due to illness, boo hoo, and generally feeling the blues because of it. So when Bryn sent me through a dwarf version of myself I was delighted. As its no secret I’m a big nerd and a midget.

Instantly I knew that it was time for another collaboration and that I wanted to paint the piece. Fast forward a few days later…

Art Collab

Recently, I and Josh had an impromptu art jam. Taking a rough ink sketch I had previously done, he painted over it digitally to give the whole drawing some colour. Obviously I was delighted and decided to share it here on the blog to show both of our work at once.

Here you can see the two layers that make up the image. You can see that enjoy traditional line-work with inks and pencils, where as Josh is great at painting through digital means. This was a fun collab as both of our preferred styles complemented excellently for the final result.

I often spend a long time coming and working on ideas that never see the light of day.So to prove I not only do work but to inflate my ego, here is a screenshot of a working progress logo design (it has been organised to have semblance of order).
